The Pioneers travelled to North Delta to take on Stingers, and despite neither keeper being able to see each other due to the foggy conditions, the game went ahead.

Stingers scored first on an ugly goal when a corner was only half cleared, and the Pioneers defence failed to deal with an innocuous looking lob back into the six yard box.

Stingers scored again when a short cruelly deflected off defender Bob Heron, leaving Pioneer keeper Gary Byrne with no chance. Half time 2-0 Stingers.

The Pioneers pulled a goal back when a wonderful cross from the left wing by Denis Luk found Evgeni Kushnir, who finished the move impressively.

With the outcome hanging by the balance, Stingers sealed the victory with a third goal.
