Johnston voted 2003 MVP

At the recent team Christmas Dinner held at the Richmond Inn, the Pioneers reflected on a successful 2003, and voted striker Ken Johnston the team's Most Valuable Player of the Year.

The team's last defeat in Winter League play was almost a year ago, and the Pioneers have racked up an impressive 20 game unbeaten streak since then.

Striker Ken Johnston contributed 25 goals in 22 games in the 2002/3 winter season, and this season he is on track to better that mark, scoring 15 goals in the first 11 games. Combined, his 40 goals in 33 games averages out to an impressive 1.2 goals per game.

Team MVP Ken Johnston receives a gift from Jim Fitzgerald.
